Born Wicked

Born Wicked - Jessica Spotswood I may just simply be too old for this kinda of book. However, I was hugely disappointed in this story. It isn't a terrible book, it's just highly unexciting, and quite a lot doesn't make sense.

Firstly - the heroine is fairly annoying, and I found it hard to be too sympathetic to her.

Second - why on earth is she in love with Finn suddenly? Paul has been her best friend since childhood, and yet because she has a sudden lust for the gardener she no longer seems to want to know him. Yes, Finn seemed a nicer character. Nonetheless, the author gives no real explanation as to why this sudden change in Cate's affections has occurred.

I feel that this book had an interesting premise, and real potential - it just didn't live up to it. I may still read the sequel, as I'm interested to see if the author can improve upon the errors she has made here, and thurn this series into something really worthy of reading. I hope so, I really do.
