Killing Floor

Killing Floor - Lee Child I won't say much about the utter travesty of the film, other than no, I have not actually seen it, but still feel comfotable calling it a travesty. No, I don't care if it is, in fact, a good film - Tom Cruise is simply one of my least favourite people to watch ever, and Tom Cruise's ego-project as Jack Reacher is so utterly wrong that I will have nothing to do with it until the inevitable remake in a few years time.

It's been half a decade since I last read this book and I'd forgotten how much I love it. The plot is complex yet simple to read, with a style that fits the narrator perfectly. Jack Reacher is an enigmatic hero, possibly a little cookie-cutter in characterisation but originality isn't everything, and seeing as the series is getting pretty old now it's possible that Reacher is in fact very original, and I'm simply tired of reading about flat versions of similar characters. Reacher is the best anyway. Love love love.
