Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse

Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse - Chris Riddell Everything about this book is gorgeous. The metallic purple page edges; the perfectly gaudy, glittery shiny silver skull patterned end-papers; the "footnotes" written by a famous foot; the little mouse memoirs in a mini book tucked into the back; and of course Riddell's perfect illustrations throughout.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if this had a plot. It doesn't even matter. It's more of an exquisite line-up of progressively odder and more wonderful characters, with a few threads tying it all together. If I have one criticism, it is that too much necessary time is spent describing the physical attributes of each character, when the drawings more than suffice - a minor complaint.
